Important Delivery Information
The Lawn Store Garden Products Ltd deliver most of our products nationwide within two to five working days if ordered by 12 noon. (Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays are not working days.)
Turf orders are perishable, therefore are always delivered on your selected date.
Delivery costs vary depend on the quantity/weight/size of the goods ordered. We do not currently deliver outside of the UK mainland.
Delivery charges will be confirmed to you, in checkout, before your order is accepted. If your order is particularly heavy it might be subject to extra delivery charges. If any order is subject to extra delivery charges you will be advised of the additional cost before your order is dispatched. You have the option to cancel the order if you wish to do so.
It is extremely important to ensure that there is a non-gravel surface & adequate delivery access for a large truck to carry out your delivery before you make your order.
UK mainland orders for delivery are carried out on the nationwide pallet network. On special request we are able to deliver large or heavy loads with a larger vehicle equipped with a truck mounted forklift. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Delivery times depend on the delivery service selected and the types of goods ordered. We always aim to dispatch all goods in stock as quickly as possible usually within 48 hours on working days. Working days are deemed to be Monday through to Friday (not including Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays). Deliveries will not be made on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays unless via prior arrangement.
Signature/Proof of delivery
If you ask for goods to be left at premises without a signature being required, please be aware that The Lawnstore will not accept liability for damage or loss that may occur to these goods.
A number of our products including (but not limited to) bulk bags of soil, turf and top-dressing are delivered on pallets or in large dumpy bags, in which case lorries are used and a kerbside delivery only can be guaranteed. Our hauliers use tail–lift offloads and hand pump trucks, therefore please be aware we can only offload on to a smooth hard standing area; it is not possible to offload onto slopes, pebble, gravel, cobble or soft ground. We will do our best to deliver as close to the property if access allows. Note – We require large lorries to make deliveries, the lorries are approximately the size of a bus. When ordering the customer must take into consideration that vehicles of this size can gain access to the street and park adjacent to their properties.
We are not able to carry materials through pedestrian gates, up paths or to rear gardens. Access to sites must be on hard surfaces over which a vehicle can pass without sustaining or causing damage of any kind. Please contact us before making your order if any delivery restrictions apply as it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure there is suitable delivery access. The customer or customer’s designated representative must be in attendance at the time of delivery, otherwise delivery will not be made and any additional charges incurred will be at the customers expense (unless prior arrangement has been made for delivery without a signature). These include (but not limited to) taking away, return to the company, re-delivery and/or product disposal. For any failed deliveries due to access issues we reserve the right to pass on incurred costs. Please note that deliveries will only be made at the driver’s discretion.
Please be aware we are unable to unload turf, soil or heavy products off of the pallet by hand therefore adequate space is required for deliveries.
Truck Mounted Forklift Assisted Deliveries
For larger loads (and some smaller deliveries in certain postcodes) we can deliver with a large truck mounted forklift. For more details contact our office email@example.com.
For larger quantities or trade account inquiries please contact us for special rates.
The Lawn Store recommends all turf products must be unrolled or laid the same day as delivery as the turf will deteriorate quickly if left on a pallet.
Turf should be watered immediately, once laid, to the point of saturation on a regular basis until well rooted.
